Different types of tourist visas to enter Namibia
Namibia has 3 different visa categories. You will need to follow the guidelines to ensure that you have the correct visa in accordance with the reason for your stay.
Evisa (VOA)
- Takes less than 15 minutes
- Less waiting time on arrival
- Less requirements
We recommend to do the Evisa (Visa On Arrival) as the process is very quick and you will experience shorter waiting time at the airport.
After submitting your application online you only need a hard copy of the approval letter with QR code and the arrival form to enter Namibia.
Visa on Arrival (VOA)
- Can be done upon entry
- Additional requirements
- Longer waiting times on arrival
You can process the visa on arrival when you enter the country, but the queues are generally much longer.
You will have to bring along hard copies of all of the requested documents and the entry is still subject to approval of the immigration officer.
Holiday Visa
- Can be done online
- Additional requirements
- Certified copy of passport
The holiday visa is also done online but it has more requirements than the Evisa and will take longer to complete online.
After submitting your application online you only need a hard copy of the approval form with QR code and the arrival form to enter Namibia.

You can process your Namibia evisa online in less than 15 minutes
As of 1st April 2025 visitors from 60 countries across Europe, Asia and America will require a visa on arrival to enter Namibia. While it is also possible to do the process upon arrival in Namibia, it is recommended to apply online in advance to avoid long queues at the airport.
The Visa On Arrival application is a simple process that can be completed in less than 15 minutes per person.

The payment failed?
Do you have 3D secure on your card? If not that could be the reason. 3D Secure is a security protocol that adds an extra layer of verification to online credit and debit card transactions to prevent fraudulent use. It involves a process where the cardholder is prompted to enter an additional code or password, typically from their bank, after entering their card details. This protocol is commonly known as “Verified by Visa” or “Mastercard Securecode”.
I provided wrong details in my application
If you have already paid for your Namibia visa on arrival application and provided wrong details or your flight was postponed to an earlier date than specified in the arrival field – there is not much you can do. You can only board the flight and explain the situation to the immigration official upon arrival and it’s up to them to decide what to do.
What if my eVis is rejected?
If your eVisa is rejected first make sure that you fulfilled all of the requirements including validity of passport. There’s a dedicated holiday visa group on Facebook where you can ask for assistance. You can also reach out to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security.
